Haven't heard of Joydrop? Well you may not recognize the name, but you've likely heard the song Sometimes Wanna Die. What you get in that song is basically what you get from the rest of the album: decent songs, with okay lyrics, and occasional bouts of catchiness.

The standout track, "American Dreamgirl" is one that I originally heard on frontwoman Tara Slone's solo ablum. I liked it there, and it's even better with a full backing band. In it, she laments the state of femininity in modern culture. You get the feeling that this is a woman who is fed up with being treated like a piece of meat. Apparently things didn't pick up for Slone, as her aforementioned solo album is called "Just Look Pretty And Sing," a reference to a suggestion she had been given during her career.
