After six years being Moist, David Usher must have had some wicked pruney fingers. Little Songs, his first solo album feels like he's insisting that people should listen to him because it's edgy. I'm wouldn't go so far as to say that the album needs a parental advisory sticker, but Usher's tone feels confrontational for the sake of confrontational. The subject matter may actually have context within the songs, but they weren't engaging me enough to pay close enough attention to tell.
A couple of years later, Usher would release Morning Orbit, a more accessible, and radio friendly album that I enjoyed notably more.
