The Ramones are boring to listen to for the same reason they are great. Simple, simple, simple lyrics and form with no sign of pretensiousness. It's just some guys playing songs about stuff. Sometimes it works, particularly when there's a good little hook in the chorus, but it's all pretty much hit and miss as to which songs you will like and which ones you won't.
The version I listened to was the 2001 Remaster, with eight bonus tracks (mostly demos and one Single version), most of which appear on the album in another form already. These bonus tracks were actually my favourite, which probably doesn't say a whole lot about the original album. All in all, this album may have been revolutionary, but it wasn't a revolution that I was around for, so stick to my enthusiastic, upwardly inflected "meh."
